Summary of our commitment

Shiptape (operated by Grovix) is designed to help e-commerce merchants and warehouse operators record packing station activity as proof against shipping disputes and transit damage claims. We do not sell your data, employee footage, or customer shipment records.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, configure a packaging terminal, or use Shiptape services, we collect:

  • Account & profile details: Your name, business or organisation name, login credentials, and contact email address.
  • Video recordings & camera feeds: Video streams and clips captured locally by your browser at your designated packaging station terminals when operators start and stop recording sessions.
  • Fulfillment & barcode data: Scanned order identification numbers, courier tracking numbers, timestamps, recording duration, and packaging station metadata.
  • Payment & billing data: Wallet top-up transaction references, auto-recharge mandate tokens, and transaction receipts processed securely via our payment gateway partner, Razorpay. We do not store raw card numbers or netbanking credentials.
  • Technical logs: Browser user agent, IP address, device camera capability metadata, and upload diagnostic events for service reliability and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Collected Data

We process collected information solely for legitimate operational purposes:

  • Storing, indexing, and presenting packaging video recordings tied to specific order IDs and tracking numbers.
  • Enabling search, playback, and download of evidence files when disputing false claims or courier transit damages.
  • Managing prepaid wallet balances, charging per-minute recording and storage consumption, and sending automated low-balance alerts.
  • Diagnosing camera stream stalls, network timeouts, and improving packing station browser performance.

3. Video Storage, Security & Infrastructure

All video files uploaded through Shiptape are securely transferred using TLS encryption and stored in private cloud object storage buckets. Access to video recordings and playback links is restricted strictly to authenticated members of your organisation through signed, short-lived URLs.

Recordings remain accessible in your account for a standard backup retention period of 60 days from the recording date. During this 60-day backup window, you may search, stream, share, or download local copies of any packaging video through the Shiptape dashboard. After 60 days, recordings reach their expiry period and are automatically pruned from cloud storage.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted third-party infrastructure providers to operate the service:

  • Supabase: Encrypted relational database, user authentication, and row-level access control.
  • Private cloud storage: Encrypted global object storage for packaging video assets.
  • Razorpay: RBI-compliant payment gateway for wallet top-ups, recurring auto-debit mandates, and instant refunds.

5. Operator & Workplace Privacy

Shiptape terminals record video at fulfillment and packaging stations. It is the sole responsibility of the merchant organisation to ensure appropriate workplace notices, employee consent, and signage comply with applicable local labor and privacy laws regarding video recording in fulfillment facilities.

6. Data Retention, Video Expiry & Deletion

You retain full ownership of all video assets and order data created by your organisation. Packaging video recordings are retained under a standard 60-day cloud backup expiry policy. Upon account termination or written request through our support portal, we permanently delete your stored video recordings, organization profiles, and indexed order identifiers within 30 days.
